You might have seen this over at Smack Jeeves already and it's not because I like the readers there more, haha. Actually, I wasn't able to access LJ at all because it's blocked in China... and so is every other blogging site that isn't Chinese. Anyway, have a belated Valentine picture. I will update again soon. :)

Going on a 2-week hiatus because I'll be visiting family in China. Brb!

But I shall post something on Valentine's Day. Please suggest any ideas you might have and I will draw it before I leave! ;)

Ah, nineties fashion. Victor, get with the times! XD

He's a little older in this flashback than the last one. 13 or 14? You decide.

EDIT: Whoa, the picture quality difference is CRAZY between Photobucket and Smackjeeves. Wtf, Photobucket? How come I never noticed this before?

EDIT 2: I LEFT OUT HER BOOBS. This is so sad. Please pretend she's just pressing down on them... really hard.

Next scene is one of my favorites. ;)

Also, I may be updating under this LJ name occasionally, just because it's a hassle to sign in and out all the time. It's the journal to which I'm posting new chapters of my novel. The chapters are friend-locked because I want to publish the book someday. Feel free to friend me if you're already watching Flowers for Sasha and are interested in giving me some feedback, and I'll friend you back: waterveilcave

It's about a Chinese immigrant (also named Victor :) who opens a restaurant. It's not a romance novel, but there will be some romance between this Victor and another Dr. Brodsky, who happens to be his mother's surgeon. TOTALLY different story from this comic though.

I really like to recycle names, if you haven't noticed. XD

This page... lol. The bird's eye view was such a pain. At least it was good practice.

Also, can I pleeeeease post this super sexy spam here? Not that you guys can stop me:

GUHCollapse )

Yes, it's a random laughing shirtless dude. I couldn't care less who he really is, but this picture is more than that. This picture here is like every fictional man I've ever crushed on all smooshed in one. He also just looks like Alex Brodsky with a beard.

Wtf why is LJ crawling today? >:(

Anyway, I'm going to spend two hours a day on this comic from now on. That's not too much out of my day, I realize. Hope you're enjoying the new pages! :)

P.S. Yes, that's a butt in the third panel. I tried not to be so crude, but I couldn't think of a proper third image, okay? And I've totally overused Brodsky's eyes already.

Happy New Year! I've been listening to Jason Mraz's new song and thinking about how much he sounds like the Victor in my head (only in that song for some reason), so I decided to update again. This page took so long because I couldn't figure out a way to vary the images--it was just Victor, Ryan, Victor, Ryan, etc. and it was getting boring. Anyway, hope a different view of what's outside and the return of the two sparrows jazzes things up a bit.

Victor's gaydar is faulty. But it's not his fault. :)

New page! Colored because it looked really plain without it.

Thanks for all your kind encouraging comments so far! Honestly, it's the reason why this comic has survived so long (2+ years!). To new readers (and old ones): Please leave a comment occasionally to let me know who you are and that you're still there! I love hearing from you guys and I always do my best to respond to each comment. :)

I'm trying to write a novel about an Asian Victor (hopefully complete by next summer), but I can't get this Victor out of my head! Let's see if I can work on two projects at once. At least there's another Dr. Brodsky in my novel, although he's shyer and more artsy than this one.

P.S. So I interviewed at Mount Sinai School of Medicine last week (Dr. Brodsky is fake but his med school is real) and it was amazing. The students seem ridiculously happy to be there, my interviewers were soooo nice, and I got to go on a tour of the actual hospital this comic takes place in, which looks NOTHING like the way I drew it, haha. First round of acceptances is next week! I'll probably be waitlisted with my mediocre grades/test scores, but I'm still going to hope... :)

EDIT: 100+ MEMBERS! WOW! I just noticed this, and coincidentally, I hit the 1000 mark at Smackjeeves with this page too. THANKS SO MUCH, GUYS! ♥
